ENGLISH FAIR

In our country English practice areas are limited. The elementary-level students have created numerous fun games competitions and projects themselves in the academic years with this project. The students who show these works in English in a public area described their presentations in their stands in a fun way.

Name of the game: Zoo
 
Aim: Reviewing the prepositions
 
How do we play?: There is a blank plan of zoo and some animal and place cards related to the zoo.The instructor must give the directions such as “ There is a lion cage next to the monkeys cage” and the student must put the cards to the correct places.
 
 
Name of the game:  Write a story
 
Aim: Teaching students how to write a story
 
How do we play?: There are three words in each lines.The students must choose one word from each line and write a story with these words.They must be careful about grammar rules.

 

Name of the game:  Where do they work?
 
Aim:  Teaching the students working places of people
 
How do we play?: There are some jumbled letters in which there is a place of a worker.The student must read the question and try to find the name of the place where this person works.
 
Name                   : Where are you from?
The aim               : To entertain the students while they learn and act out their roles.
How to play       : First of all you are organising your students to prepare traditional costumes of different countries and their role plays. Then they talk about themselves and their countries to their friends one by one or during a conversation in the classroom.
 
Name                   :Wet man
The aim               : Teaching and reminding the players the words they know in many categories such as “countries,animals,food,colours,subjects..”. It is good for whole grades. They practise how to write while they are playing.
How to play       : Wet man is a new version of hang man. It is not so cruel and you do not kill the people. Just maket hem wet and hang man. There are many parts of the man such as his head, arms, legs, body and shoes. There is also a big pot full of water made of cartoon. The player choose a category and the lines are drawn up to the number of the hidden word.For every wrong letter a part of the man is getting together. At last he fells into the water. You can take your sweet if you can rescue the man without getting wet.

 

Name                   :Shoot the Balloons
The aim               : Teaching and reminding the players the daily conversations and necessary patterns.
How to play       : There are many balloons on a board which has numbers on them. The players choose a balloon , shoot it and then answer the question of that balloon by matching the quest and response. If it is true gets the present.
 
Name of the game:   Proverbs
 
Aim: Teaching students some English proverbs
 
How do we play?: There is a cube on which there are some pictures of English proverbs.There are also written forms of the proverbs on another cards.The student must throw the cube on the desk and match the picture on the cube with the written form of it on the card.
 
Name                   : Parts of the house
The aim               :Teaching parts of the house. It is good specially for young learners. They practise how to write and say while they are playing.
How to play       : We need a toy house on a table. It has some numbers on the parts of house. The players try to match the part of the house with the numbers. At the end of one minute the truely matched words are counted and the player wins a present.

 

Name of the game: Match the words
 
Aim: Finding homophone words
 
How do we play?: There are eight pairs of puzzle shaped words.The student must read the words and  try to find the right pairs in one minute.
 
Name                   : Let’s Ring The Bell
The aim               : Teaching vocabulary
How to play       : We need a special board that has some metalic butons on it. These butons are connected two true butons with thin cables from the back of the board. Then we also need a door bell with two long cable to connect true butons. We stick some words near the butons. Finally we try to match the words each other. Name of the game: Jump and Say
 
Aim:   Finding the correct verbs
 
 
How do we play?:   There is a pool made of blue rubbish bags.Some verbs are written on the cards and placed on the bags.One of the students has got a paper which contains the questions to find the correct verb.There are at least three verbs in a row; the student finds the correct verb and jumps on it.The student must jump on the correct verbs in a limited time.
 
 
Name                   : Irregular Verbs Game
The aim               : Teaching and reminding the players the irregular verbs . It is good for whole grades. They practise how to write while they are playing.
How to play       :  This game is played by one or more people. There are many cards which has irregular verbs on them. The player try to match  the verbs cards with the past form of the verbs cards. If the matchings are true gets the present.
 
Name                   : Fruit and vegetables
The aim               :Teaching and reminding the players the names of the fruit and vegetables. It is good specially for young learners. They practise how to write while they are playing.
How to play       :There is a big tree on the board and some fruit and vegetables on it.Two players are chosen and they take board markers to write the names of the foods. The players start at the same time and try to write more many words. At the end of one minute the truely written words are counted and the best one is the winner.

Aim: Finding the right dog
 
 
 
How do we play?: There are fourteen dogs in the picture.All of them are doing something.The student must read the instructions and try to find the right dog whose name is “Ben”
 
Name                   : Countries-Flags-Capital cities
The aim               : Teaching and reminding the names of Countries-Flags-Capital cities
 to players. It is good specially for young learners. They practise how to say and match the countries-flags-capital cities while they are playing.
How to play       : There are many countries name, flags and the name of capital cities on the cards. The players try to put the cards into the box with correct order. If he puts them correctly he will be winner.
 
 
Name of the game: Connections
 
Aim: Try to guess the word
 
How do we play?: There are train wagons containing syllables. The last syllable of the first word is the first syllable of the second word.The students must try to find out the word.

 

Name                   : Clothes shop
The aim               : Teaching clothes with their price. It is good specially for young learners. They practise how to buy and sell clothes in English.
How to play       : We need some toy clothes. The clothes have their price on them. The customer tries to ask how much money are the clothes. Then shop assistant tries to answer. So the students practise English.

 

Name                   : Clothes
The aim               : Teaching and reminding the players the names of the clothes. It is good specially for young learners. They practise how to read and write while they are playing.
How to play       : There are flash cards that has clothes pictures and names on a table. The player tries to match the words and pictures in 30 seconds. At the end of 30 seconds the truely matched words are counted and the winner take his present.
 

 

Name                   : Animal Parts
The aim               : Teaching and reminding the names of animal parts to players. It is good specially for young learners. They practise how to say the names of animal parts while they are playing.
How to play       : There are many animal pictures but they are divided several parts. The players try to unify the cutting pictures on a correct animal body . Then say the name of animal and its parts. If they make them correctly they will be winner.
 
 
Name                  :Step by step
The aim               : To entertain the students while they learn and repeat the words they know.
How to play       : At first you are organising two groups of students. The number may change up to the teacher,the difficulty of the words, the number of the children..etc.
To play the game you will need word cards .If you can make up them thinking the whole graders differently and sperate the kids according to their grades it will be a more effective game.
The game is played on a special board(a specially designed sheet you can tell also)which has 20 squares and a daily quest in each square. The words are put in the middle of the sheet and the groups choose a speaker to tell the words to their partners.
Each group has 1 minute and they can move one square for every 3 right words. They are using the small game pawns to move . The speaker can use both synonyms and antonyms and they can use their mimes and gestures.
The first group reaching the finish is the winner.
